Oh My Peonies LLC


My passion for peonies started when my sister shared Red Charm with me. My reaction was "Oh My! Peonies!" Since then, my hobby with peonies has grown to more than 350 peony varieties. My sister joined me in 2014 and we have grown our life-long hobby to over 350 peony varieties. We hope you will find both enjoyment and excitement in growing this "gem of the garden" as we have..

SMALL TOWNS: Marion farmer turns cropland into gardens of peonies

We have a variety of peonies including some heirloom varieties, some new varieties and some that are just hard-to-find! Each year we add some newly found favorites. We offer a variety of lactiflora, herbaceous hybrid, Itoh or intersectional and Japanese varieties, so we're sure there's a treasure for you to find in our gardens.

What we offer you at the farm:

  • Tour on your own the 11 garden plots with over 350 peony varieties and 2500 plants. Seeing the peonies helps you to decide what you would like to have in your own garden or you can just enjoy the beauty of ours. Plan about an hour or more to tour through the various gardens.
  • Potted plants, typically in biodegradable pots, making it easy for you to plant your peonies in spring.
  • Select your own peonies for you to take a bouquet home of fresh-cut stems and enjoy during the peony season in your own home.
  • Pre-designed bouquets are kept in our cooler or call ahead to order a customized bouquet for yourself or a friend.
  • Pre-cut stems for events or weddings. Contact us to order peonies by color or variety and we will hold your pre-cut stems until pickup.
  • Group tours. If your garden club or group is interested in a personalized garden tour, contact us to reserve a time on our schedule.

Stop and view the peonies

We are located in Marion, Wisconsin in the heart of Wisconsin. You are welcome to visit our peony landscape during June until the peonies are done blooming.. Our blooming season typically begins around June 1, dependent on Mother Nature, of course. Our peak bloom begins about the 2nd week of June and lasts until the peonies diminish in July. Our visiting hours are Monday through Saturday 9-4 and on Sunday from 11-4. If you are coming as a group, please call ahead to schedule a personalized tour.

Purchase peony bareroots

Fall is the best time to plant peonies. We plant our bareroots from October until after our first frost. We offer bareroots with 3-5 "eyes" or buds. We guarantee the plants to be satisfactory upon arrival. Bareroots will be shipped mid-September through October. Payment for peonies shipped in fall is required at the time you order.

When is the best time to order? We offer bareroots from the previous December throughout the year, until our inventory supply is diminished. The best time to order is when you know what varieties you would like. We have a limited inventory of many varieties. To be assured you will receive what you want, order as early as possible. When inventory is not available, it will be displayed as "Out of Stock". Since we do take orders at the farm in June, we sell-out of many varieties then, so placing your order early will assure you receive the varieties you would like.

We have designers available at Oh My Peonies for your event or wedding. Our design team has more than 10 years of experience in designing and coordinating weddings and floral design. DIYs ...you may preorder your cut peony stems to assure you get the quantityy, color and variety you need.
